Experimentation capabilities

The iBiofoundry system is currently housed in BSL-1 workspace and integrated using Thermo MomentumTM scheduling software. The platform has been designed for accommodating a wide variety of applications, allowing flexibility for automated as well as manual standalone usage. The major instruments are listed below. Some of the established workflows on iBiofoundry include:

  • PCR and PCR clean up
  • DNA cloning (Gibson assembly, Golden Gate, PfAgo based cloning etc)
  • Site-directed mutagenesis
  • Solid phase extraction
  • Microbial transformations and growth
  • Protein expression
  • Enzyme assays

Robotic liquid handlers

  • Nanoliter-scale Labcyte Echo 650 acoustic liquid handler.
  • Tecan Fluent 1080 with many on-deck modifications.
  • Assisted by three more liquid handlers from iBioFAB.
